Adnodd announces new board members Natalie Jones and Mair Gwynant
Adnodd recently welcomed two new members to our board: Natalie Jones and Mair Gwynant. Their expertise and dedication to Welsh education and governance will play a key role in advancing our mission to deliver high-quality, bilingual resources for the Curriculum for Wales.
Learn more about Natalie and Mair below and why we’re delighted to have them onboard:
Natalie Jones
Natalie Jones is a true advocate for inclusive and vibrant education. Drawing on her Jamaican heritage and love for the Welsh language, she is committed to making education both accessible and inspiring for all. In her current role as the Education, Diversity, and Welsh Manager at S4C, Natalie works to ensure that engaging educational content is available for both children and Welsh learners.
After previously teaching Welsh as a second language, Natalie has worked across primary and secondary schools, giving her a first-hand understanding of Wales’ educational landscape. Her insight into the new curriculum’s focus on empathy and social understanding allows her to contribute meaningfully to Adnodd’s mission of creating resources that reflect the diverse experiences of Welsh learners.
Beyond her role at S4C, Natalie is a writer for the Welsh-language magazine Golwg and a campaigner for equality with the Race Council Cymru. In 2023, she was recognised for her efforts with an award for Racial Equality and Inclusion, and she’s also a published children’s author. Her dedication to promoting diversity and anti-racism in schools complements Adnodd’s values, ensuring our resources reflect the richness of Wales’ multicultural society.
Mair Gwynant
We’re excited to have Mair Gwynant on our board as a non-executive director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee. With over 30 years of experience in finance, Mair is a leader in her field, known for her sharp focus on value for money and good governance. She’s a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has held prominent roles in both the public and private sectors, including with Deloitte and the Welsh Government.
Through her consultancy business, Mair has supported charities and social enterprises with financial management, and she also chairs the Audit and Risk Committees for both the Welsh Language Commissioner and the Future Generations Commissioner. Her commitment to good governance is a perfect fit for Adnodd’s vision of delivering long-term, sustainable value to the education sector.
Mair is also a passionate volunteer at the Wales Millennium Centre. Her blend of financial expertise and community engagement makes her a valuable addition to our team, ensuring that Adnodd’s resources are delivered efficiently and with the highest standards of governance.
