Resource: Language adventures with Y Pod-antur Cymraeg
A resource to support Welsh learners has been given digital-age upgrade with support from Adnodd
What is Y Pod-antur Cymraeg?
Y Pod-antur Cymraeg is a Welsh language resource designed for learners aged 7–11. Through the time-travelling adventures of six characters, the series builds on language patterns introduced in Foundation learning, offering an imaginative way to support vocabulary development and sentence structure.
While primarily created for second language learners, Y Pod-antur Cymraeg is also a valuable tool for first language learners who want to reinforce or revisit their Welsh skills.
Bringing the resource up to date
As with many older materials, the shift away from CD-ROMs and the introduction of the Curriculum for Wales meant the series needed a refresh.
In response to requests from practitioners, Adnodd commissioned digital agency Tinint to update Y Pod-antur Cymraeg for today’s learners. The result is a modern, accessible, and engaging series designed to boost learners’ confidence in using Welsh.
The updated resource includes:
- Over 125 videos available online.
- Numerous books and e-books, all with audio narration.
- Worksheets, discussion cards, and an interactive game.
All content is free, flexible, and available in both Welsh and English.
