GCSE History Magazine

Medieval knights representing the Medieval period in Wales. | Milwyr o'r Oesoedd Canal I goynrychioli Cymru yn ystod yr Oesoedd Canol.

Adnodd’s funding window for a digital History GCSE magazine is now open.

This commissioning cycle is for a new digital, bilingual GCSE History magazine to support learners with the new History GCSE that has been made for Wales.

We’ll be looking to fund the provision of a new magazine that is:

  • bilingual (Welsh and English versions)
  • free to use
  • focused on the topics and themes from the WJEC History GCSE specification
  • in line with the ethos of the Curriculum for Wales and one or more of Adnodd’s current focus areas; literacy, equity and anti-racism, and well-being.

The contract term will be for 12 months, with the option to extend for a further 12 months subject to evaluation following the first issue. Three initial issues will be developed and made available by September 2026, December 2026 and March 2027.

To ensure that resources are of the highest quality, accurate, relevant, accessible, and engaging, we strongly encourage bidders to actively explore opportunities for collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders.

All suppliers must complete a two step application process.

Step 1: register on the Central Digital Platform, where a Share Code will be generated; this requires creating or signing in to a GOV.UK One Login account.

Step 2: please note that all Adnodd tender opportunities are published on the Proactis EProcurement System, which suppliers must access to view and submit to current opportunities.

Search for ‘Adnodd’ and the opportunity will appear; please note that the customer name will show as Caerphilly County Borough Council, as they are our procurement partners and advertise commissioning opportunities on our behalf.
